Greek Finacial Crisis: Discussions between Greece and IMF have come to a dead end

While the Greek economy is hanging by a thread, government and lenders are driving
negotiations at the ends, as none of the two sides do not seem prepared to back out easily.

Within this climate, Athens seems to be thinking seriously of not paying the dose package to the IMF at the end of June if there is no agreement between the two sides. According to the information given by the Prime Minister's office -which believes that Europe won't let Greece bankrupt, as it would negatively affect the whole Eurozone- Greece may not pay the instalment to the IMF (~1,6 billion €).
Moreover, goverment's spokesman Gabriel Sakelaridis, during the yesterday's press briefing, he was asked whether the instalent to the IMF would be paid. He answered: "We hope that there will be a deal, so as to end this discussion".
At the same time, parliamentary spokesman Olga Gerovasili, during a political TV show, when asked wheter June's instalment would be paid, she simply asnwered "I don't know".
